The Rialto Theater, an eclectic design of Scottish Architect John Tulloch, opened October 4, 1920, has been a historic gem nestled in the heart of Downtown ever since. With its prime location on Main St, this iconic theater has witnessed the transformation of the city over the years, most recently with the ongoing $30 million renovation of main street. Throughout its rich history, The Rialto has been a hub for entertainment, hosting a variety of concerts(The Marx Brothers, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, John Wayne, Elvis Presley, etc), special events, and movie screenings that have brought joy to the community. To help determine the theater's future The University of Dallas has completed a comprehensive analysis to explore options for the future. As built drawings along with renderings showing the possibilities of what the theater could be are attached. Imagine The Possibilities Tour showcased The Rialto with a rooftop for events and the fly tower as a kitchen.
